Initial Task

Description

Touchlane engineers joined the Supercan team to create native iOS & Android apps.

MVP version included live messaging, video post-processing (filters, quality & size enhancements) and payment processing. The main functions of the application were to be as follows:

Chatbot to get familiar with the features of the app and search for celebrities
Chat with video requests and paid videos
Pay for content using in-app purchases

Challenges

External Payment Processing

It was absolutely necessary for the Supercan product model to avoid marketplace fees by using external payment links. Unfortunately, the straight implementation did not pass the marketplace review, and we needed a quick workaround. The solution was to develop a simple authorization webform collecting payment details and further deep linking users into the mobile app.

Tight Roadmap

Given the startup nature of Supercan, the whole team was under time pressure since the very first day. For example, a proof-of-concept of live messaging was built by our engineers in cooperation with the back-end team in just two days during a live workshop session. Coping with the deadline required significant team extensions on both sides, as well as structural changes, but no problem was left unresolved in the end.

Workflow

After having conducted an extended client’s interview to understand the needs and plans we have come up with a detailed plan and road map of the project development, including covering aspects of team composition and tech solutions to be implemented.

Once the concept of the app was approved from the Client’s side, we formed a team of highly experienced iOS and Android developers, QA Engineers and a dedicated Project Manager.

Afterwards, our specialists proceeded to the development of the core functionality. We started from the implementation of the one-to-one chat that would let users to communicate via video or direct messages, getting unique replies from their favorite celebrities.

04.

As the next step, our Touchlane team elaborated fresh UX/UI as well as integrated multiple payment methods and performed QA testing, thus making Supercan ready for the official release.

05.

When the app was launched in production, we kept on performing support and adding new features in order to enhance user experience even more. We went ahead with customizing celebrity profiles and improving UI to make it more user-friendly.

The final version of Supercan was successfully released for iOS and Android with all the required functionality onboard.

The developed messenger app gave users the unique opportunity to get closer to their favorite artists, always be on to the latest news and share their opinion via the easy-to-use chat developed by Touchlane specialists.
